I’m a huge fan of guacamole!! A perfect Saturday would definitely include chips and guac. with a margarita of course! We love to whip up some guacamole at home on the weekends for watching Sunday football, an afternoon snack, or when we are hosting friends over. It’s pretty easy to make and delicious. You can never go wrong with simple and tasty when it comes to hosting. All you need to make guacamole at home is avocados, red onion, tomato, lime juice, olive oil, salt and pepper.

What You’ll Need

Serves 2-4

  • 3 avocados
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 2-3 limes
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Chips (optional)

How to Make Guacamole at Home

Start by cutting, removing the seed, and scooping the 3 avocados into a large mixing bowl. Next, dice 1/2 red onion and add that to the mixing bowl. Using a fork or spoon start mixing together by smashing the avocado until it’s a guacamole consistency. Cut the seeds out of the tomato, dice, and add the diced tomato to the bowl. Slice 2-3 limes in half and squeeze the lime juice into the bowl. I always start with 2 then add more later if needed. Next, add about 1 tbsp. of olive oil, 1tsp. of salt, and 1 tsp. of pepper. Mix everything together well. Taste the guacamole and add more lime juice, salt, and/or pepper if needed. Then serve and enjoy!

Serving Ideas

Guacamole has so many possibilities when it comes to how it’s served. My personal favorite is just the classic chips and guacamole, but this can be served other ways too. You could serve this guacamole with your favorite tacos whether they’re chicken, steak, fish, or shrimp. This guacamole would also go great in a rice bowl. We love making different rice bowls throughout the week for dinner with some veggies and a protein. You could easily top off your next rice bowl with some guacamole for some added flavor.
